BLINN COLLEGE STUDENTS RAISE MONEY FOR COUNTY YOUTH

Blinn College students raised more than $3600 to support the youth of Washington County during this year’s Homecoming Festivities.

Blinn College presented the Boys & Girls Club of Washington County with a check worth $3,665.89 during halftime of the Buccaneers’ Homecoming game Saturday at Cub Stadium. The funds were raised by the 16 members of the Homecoming court, each representing one of the College’s student organizations.

Freshman Kelsey White of Alvin, representing the Ag Club, was crowned Homecoming queen and sophomore Dallas Gonzales of Brenham, representing the Future Teachers Association, was named Homecoming king. The king and queen are selected based upon the funds they raise for charity, their performance in the Homecoming talent show and a vote of their fellow students.
