Blinn to host retirement reception for Dr. Harold Nolte

Blinn College will host a retirement reception for district president Dr. Harold Nolte Friday on the Blinn College – Brenham campus.

The reception will be held from 3-4 p.m. in the Janis Sneed Banquet Room located in the Student Center.

Houston Astros to visit Brenham campus

Houston Astros players and alumni will visit Blinn College Thursday, Jan. 22, as part of the team’s 2015 Caravan stop in Brenham.

Hank Conger, Tony Sipp, Asher Wojciechowski, J.R. Richard and Steve Sparks are scheduled to visit the Student Center from 10:45–11:45 a.m.

The event at Blinn is open to the public. Players are expected to sign autographs for those that attend.

 

Local part-time job listings available

Local employers who have part-time job openings for Blinn College students may list those opportunities with the job listings service provided by the college advising and counseling center. Career & Technical Training Scholarships

Scholarships are available for students pursuing a variety of programs, including Machining, CNC Machining, Welding, Certified Nurse Aide, Phlebotomy, Medical Office Technician, and more.  To see if you qualify, and to review program offerings, visit our website or call to make an appointment with our Workforce Advisor.  Free GED Classes are available Monday evenings at the Hodde Center through Community Education and full workforce program scholarships are available for students pursuing both a GED and qualified training programs.  For more info, call 979-830-4443 or visit www.blinn.edu/workforce.

 

Technical Education classes available

The Blinn College Technical Education program housed in the A.W. Hodde Jr. Technical Education Center offers classes in machining, electrical technology, office and administrative support and health fields such as phlebotomy, medical office assistant, certified nurse’s aide and certified medication aide throughout the Fall. Workforce Education classes available

The Blinn College Workforce Education program has numerous classes available in the areas of Health, Applied Technology, Career and Professional Development, Computers and Information Technology and Continuing Education.
