BLINN PRESIDENT OUTLINES OPENING OF SCHOOL YEAR IN LETTER

Blinn President Dr. Mary Hensley has issued a letter to all Blinn employees and students as they prepare for the beginning of the 2020 Fall semester, August 24th.

Dr. Mary Hensley
(Blinn College)

In the letter, Hensley outlines the ‘Back with Blinn’ plan that is designed to address safety amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Hensley also says Blinn has partnered with Ivy.ai to create a one-step self-certification process for students and employees via the Campus Clear website.  Based on responses, the app either will invite students to join on campus or to stay home.

Hensley encourages all faculty and staff to review the employee information section of the Back With Blinn site.

Back with Blinn also provides information regarding the washable, re-usable facemasks and face shields Blinn will provide for each employee returning to work.

Blinn is hosting live social media Q&A sessions through next Thursday, where students can ask questions regarding the Fall semester, registration, and advising.  The sessions are at noon on Monday and Wednesday and at 6 p.m. on Thursday.

Hensley goes on to say, Blinn will adjust plans as necessary to support their top priority – the health and safety of all members of the campus community.

Blinn will launch the new academic year with Faculty Convocation on next Tuesday, via Zoom, allowing faculty and staff to participate remotely. Employees can join the Zoom conference as early as 7:45 a.m. and the session will begin at 8:30 a.m.
