  1. Drug use and abuse is not just an issue at Blinn College. And don’t think that by sending your children to a university or to some swanky private school they are going to avoid the problem. You can watch the news or read the paper everyday and figure that much out. That being said, 10 states and D.C. have already legalized marijuana so just like alcohol before it the day will come when it is legalized nation wide. Hopefully sooner rather than later so kids don’t have their entire lives ruined over marijuana. And people who need to use it for medical reasons don’t have to hide to do so.

  2. I work with people suffering from addiction and I can garauntee you that there is a remarkable increase in college students needing help with drug problems at Blinn College. How can I keep that to myself when I live in this community and my family members, including children go or have gone to school there. The University needs to be held accountable and there should be zero tolerance for anyone charged with manufacture and delivery of controlled substances. I can’t feel sorry for anyone who sells dope for money….

  3. This whole situation is honestly ridiculous. The way people are reacting I would have thought that they found some hard drugs such as meth or heroine. Weed is legal across half the country and if she was doing the same exact thing in California we would be giving her a pat on the back for being a great entrepreneur. We can’t complain that Brenham’s economy is suffering when the people that live here are not the ones boosting the economy. It’s an inherency that students are going to party in college. Rather than being naive and punishing them for being young, we should allow them to grow and experience life. If Brenham locked up every Blinn student that ever tried to have a good time then the whole campus would be vacant. The police should mainly focus on the influx of illegal weapons in the city because these guns have led to multiple robberies and a couple of murders that far outweigh something as minor as a college kid with some weed. A hard conviction will only deter more students from attending the college and inevitably yank the economy as less students attend the school.

    1. I beg to differ. The rampant drug use and crime at and around the Brenham campus is exactly the reason why I am not sending my daughter there. Blinn in Brenham has already gained a negative reputation for this issue. There’s a way to party without BREAKING THE LAW.

    2. You too have got to be joking. Across the country Is Not Texas!. It is still illegal in this state. Would be alright if your child bought drugs from a dealer since it’s ok to have fun and would that be considered ‘minor’ to you?

  4. Please stop speaking on information you all know nothing about. Don’t be ignorant, and judge her when you may not know her situation. Not only speaking because she happens to be a close friend of mine, but this time is already very hard for me and others around myself. It’s even worse getting on here and seeing comments attacking and slandering her name. Show some respect regardless of what your personal opinion may be, she’s already going through enough. I’m not saying that what happened is right nor do I condone it, but I’m sure you all have made your mistakes as well. They’re just not in the light at this moment. So please, if you have anything negative to say, keep that to yourself.

    1. You are kidding right? Marijuana Is Illegal, selling marijuana is Illegal. So in turn her situation don’t even matter. IT IS ILLEGAL! Get a real job and make money….Legally.
This comment section allows us to Express how we feel on the situations such as this. So no one of us is going to state that what went on with this person is OK.
Basically all the folks that comment in these posts are Brenham Citizens….We live here. Blinn students come and go and we don’t tolerate this type of problem. Soooo, everyone’s 2 cents will be heard.
      Thank you

  5. The bottom line is that arresting blinn students cuts down on income for the college. Then, posting the arrests of blinn students doesn’t sell Blue Bell Ice cream and bring tourism dollars to Brenham. Then when do tourist come to Brenham and stay in our motels their vehicles get burglarized of anything of value and sold so drugs can be bought. Brenham looks great and homely driving through it but stay here more than a few days and you most certainly will be a victim of crime or see the ugly truth that lies just under the surface hidden by the facade built by city officials. The only way to improve this situation is to make life uncomfortable for criminals and that is entirely the responsibility of our prosecutors and court systems.

  6. Drug dealing in general is rampant and out of control at Blinn College…The campus police are I’ll trained or aggressive in this regard and the local police can’t baby sit the college..last year I called the dean several times….he never returned my calls despite murder, beatings and endless cat and mouse games with county and City police forces. On some level, Blinn College needs to be held accountable for this rediculous problem over there. It is not a safe campus !

  7. Wow. Washington County and their excessive bonds.. $100,000? That’s just crazy. ANY other county in this state this bond is easily under $50,000.. probably more like $25,000 or less. Must be good to be a bondsmen in this town!

  8. This is a victimless crime. The young man that was murdered, that’s truly sad. What should be prosecuted is the murder. If marijuana was legalized I doubt they would be as much trouble.

    1. ugh. that is all you can say. and then compare it to a heinous crime. and now you want the right to legally smoke marijuana? you have just proven to us again, why it should not be legal.

    2. A crime of any manner Victimizes everyone involved!. There is no such thing as a victim-less crime. “UGH”…Are you one of those affected by this…Hmmm!……A Victim then.

The Blinn College Chancellor needs to recognize all of this happening to this school inside and outside of campus when it’s involving the students. Take charge and LEAD!. ????

    3. Remember Ugh, the Blinn Student was murdered over a marijuana deal by four Brenham High School students. Victimless crime??????

  9. Wow! Shouldn’t the campus police be doing more to monitor these students? Random room checks or monthly random drug dogs?…I vote Dogs.

    1. I totally agree with more security and to enforce the policy of search or have the dogs present every other month or just random times to make them think more but when it’s just an open policy and no one is doing anything about it then that word gets around and brings more trouble to Brenham.
It’s very hard to catch all the activity weather it’s drugs, alcohol or other illegal things that are going on in Blinn / Brenham and local surroundings county’s but with some added security presence would help.
I would of thought with the young man being killed that attended Blinn and especially with it being over drugs the law enforcement would of steppped up its performance!
Just so sad but true!!! If you don’t like hearing or reading the truth then stay in your shell and hibernate for the winter…

  10. What is really going on here? The child is in COLLEGE peddling drugs? OMG! If she wasn’t set up, this is a crying shame.

    1. It’s terrible, and Blinn is doing nothing about it since they have to meet their student quota. Drugs and crime are all over campus, especially the north and east sides. Students are disturbing Brenham citizens and nothing is being done about it.
