The Blinn College District will celebrate the grand opening of its newest residence hall, Friday morning.
Mill Creek Hall, located at the corner of Saeger Street and Old Mill Creek Road on the Blinn-Brenham Campus, is a 464-bed student housing facility.
The hall’s grand opening is set for Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. opens in time to welcome students for the upcoming fall semester.
The facility features a common area, four study rooms, four student lounges, four seating areas, a vending area, a laundry room with 16 washers and dryers, two 3D printer rooms, and two technology classrooms.
Blinn officials say the addition of Mill Creek Hall will help them meet the demand for on-campus housing and enrollment on the Brenham Campus.
Last year, the campus housed 1,320 students, more than any other community college in the state. Despite this, in recent years Blinn has had a wait list for students seeking on-campus housing.
