The 3 p.m. concert will feature performances by Blinn vocal and instrumental students and members of the College’s music faculty under the direction of Dr. Sarah Burke and Dr. Paulo Gomes.

The program will include “Magnificat” by English composer John Rutter. It will feature all of the performing ensembles, which will be joined by the choirs from Brenham and Trinity high schools.

“Magnificat,” the canticle of the Virgin Mary, is found in the opening chapter of St. Luke’s Gospel and recounts a visit by the Virgin Mary to her cousin Elizabeth after Mary learns that she is to be the mother of Christ.

“The performance gives local music lovers and students from area high school choirs and bands the opportunity to enjoy Blinn’s student performers in one of the most beautiful concert halls in the nation,” said Gomes.

Festival Hill, which opened for performances in 1983, is acclaimed for the exceptional acoustics in its 1,000-seat concert hall.

Tickets to “Sounds of the Seasons” are $10. They are available at www.blinn.edu/boxoffice and also will be available at the door.
