BLINN WOMEN’S SOCCER SUFFERS FIRST LOSS TO JACKSONVILLE, 3-0

Hope Hillhouse records five saves for the Buccaneers

BRENHAM, Texas — The Blinn College women’s soccer team suffered a 3-0 loss to Jacksonville College for the Buccaneers first loss of the season Friday at Rankin Field.
With the loss, the Buccaneers are now 2-1 overall and in conference play.
“We didn’t start off well today and we weren’t ready to play,” assistant coach Alexandria Jackson said. “We let Jacksonville score in the first minute and were really chasing the game after that. After the first 10 minutes, we really dominated the game and got chances, but couldn’t finish.”
On defense, Hope Hillhouse recorded five saves in the game. Offensively, Blinn had four shots against Jacksonville.
The Jaguars scored in the first minute and held a 1-0 lead at the half. Then, the Jaguars extended their lead to 2-0 with a goal from 40 yards out in the 55th minute. Jacksonville scored its final goal with a free kick in the 66th minute.
Next, the Buccaneers will compete against No. 1 Tyler Junior College on Tuesday, April 13, at 2 p.m. on the road.
