BLUE BELL AQUATIC CENTER GETTING READY FOR NATIONAL AQUATIC WEEK

Next week is National Aquatic Week at the Blue Bell Aquatic Center.

Monday to Friday, from 1 to 5 p.m. each day, the aquatic center will host a variety of activities with different themes in celebration of National Aquatic Week, bringing awareness to water safety and fun.

Aquatic Supervisor Tammy Jaster says the week kicks off with Safety Day on Monday, featuring several safety demonstrations and local first responders.

Activities continue on Tuesday with Fiesta Day, where families can play with a mini piñata, take part in bean races and “Pin the Mustache on the Mariachi.”

Wednesday is Luau Day, and will include limbo contests, coconut bowling and a hula hoop chain race.

Art Day on Thursday will have more coconut bowling along with bubble art and squirt gun painting.  The aquatic center will also show “Trolls World Tour” that evening as part of the rescheduled “Floats n’ Flicks.”

The week concludes with Ice Cream Float Day on Friday, where the aquatic center will give away free ice cream floats while supplies last.

Jaster says safety is the most important part of National Aquatic Week, but it is also important to remember to have fun.

The aquatic center will be open on the Fourth of July from 1 to 5 p.m., and will have activities like fireworks, painting and Stars and Stripes Bowling.

KTEX-106’s Tracey Lawless will be broadcasting live at the aquatic center on Monday for Safety Day, with the Wagon Wheel of Prizes.
