BODY FOUND UNDER THE BRAZOS RIVER BRIDGE

A Waller man was found Thursday morning with a single gunshot wound to the head under the Brazos River Bridge.  According to Sheriff Otto Hanak, on Thursday morning, deputies received a call of a body observed underneath the Brazos River Bridge on U.S. Hwy. 290 East and at the Washington and Waller county line.  A silver KIA was parked in proximity of the body.  Upon arrival, deputies found a deceased white male on the riverbank suffering from a single gunshot wound to the head.

The deceased was identified as Chance Kerr Boehme, age 38, of Waller, Texas.  Justice of the Peace Douglas Cone pronounced the death and ordered an autopsy.  The autopsy was performed today (Friday), at the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office in Austin.  The autopsy results indicate Mr. Boehme died of a self-inflicted single gunshot wound but the case is still under investigation.  Assisting the sheriff’s office in the investigation are the Texas Rangers and the Texas Highway Patrol.
