B&PW PARK TO UNDERGO $1.1 MILLION RENOVATION PROJECT

A big facelift is in the works for Sealy’s B&PW Park.

The City of Sealy and Greater Sealy Little League have reached an agreement to provide $1.1 million in improvements to the park.

The upgrades were recently approved by the Sealy City Council, contingent on a $300,000 contribution from the Sealy Economic Development Corporation.

The overhaul includes the installation of artificial turf infields, air-conditioned restrooms, scoreboard and concession stand improvements, and new fencing and lighting, along with other upgrades.  City Manager Lloyd Merrell called it a “complete renovation of the park”.

According to Bill Burttschell of the Greater Sealy Little League, the company in charge of installing the turf is tentatively scheduled to get started in early December.  Burttschell said he hopes the park will be renovated in time for baseball and softball season this spring.
