BRAZOS CO. SEX OFFENDER JAILED

  

A College Station man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for failure to register as a sex offender.

43-year old Orlando Santana was arrested last January when he tried to snatch the purse of a woman who was visiting the grave of her late child.

Police say the woman was at the College Station Memorial Cemetary when she saw a man running from her car with her purse.  A short time later, Santana was captured by College Station Police, who then discovered he had not registered as a sex offender.

Santana had been convicted back in 1991 for the sexual assault of a 72-year old woman.
