BRAZOS CO. SWAT ENDS STANDOFF PEACEFULLY
A man has been arrested following a standoff with Brazos County SWAT, Friday night.
The man, whose name has not been released, barricaded himself inside a house in north Brazos County. The suspect came out of the house peacefully just before midnight Friday.
According to the Department of Public Safety, the situation started around 1:00 p.m. on Highway 6, when a DPS trooper tried to stop the man.
He refused to stop and drove to a metal scrap yard off Highway 6, where he ditched the trailer and fled to a nearby house.
Authorities established contact with the suspect and Texas Rangers negotiated for hours. The suspect eventually surrendered without incident.
