BRAZOS RIVER BRIDGE PROJECT NEARING COMPLETION

  1. After years of delays, the three new bridges at the Brazos River on Highway 105 are nearing completion and the contractor will soon begin work on the new approaches to them.  The 34.4 million dollar project building the bridges between Brenham and Navasota was begun in 2014.  The project has seen numerous weather delays over the years as flooding necessitated a redesign.  Most recently, work on the project stopped in 2017 and began again last summer.  If the weather cooperates, the project may be completed by the end of this year.  The new Brazos River Bridge replaces one that is 66 years old and is at the end of its design life.
