City staff are looking for a large mixed breed, white in color with spotted black ears and a black spot on his left eye.  City staff have taken to calling him “Ghost”.

Animal Services Manager Allison Harper says the city has been aware of Ghost for a few months, and has tried several methods to get him off the streets.  She says he has made his way from Day and Lubbock Street to Day and 3rd Street, near St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Harper says Ghost is very shy and skittish, so he will not hurt anyone and typically moves away from people who approach.  However, he loves other dogs, and will play with dogs passing by.

Travelers are also cautioned to keep an eye out while driving in the area of Day and 3rd Street, as, according to Harper, Ghost has been known to lie down in the street.  She says he is often either on the curb or right in the middle of the intersection, which has a four-way stop and is typically busy during school drop-off and pick-up times.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts can call Brenham Animal Services at 979-337-7391, or email animalservices@cityofbrenham.org.  Updates are also posted on the Brenham Animal Services Facebook page.
