BRENHAM ATHLETICS ‘SENIOR NIGHT’ POSTPONED TO WEDNESDAY
Update @ 4:18 p.m.: Brenham High School’s celebration of its senior athletes will have to wait another night.
Brenham ISD officials announced this (Tuesday) afternoon that, due to inclement weather, the drive-thru Senior Night celebration set to take place at 6 p.m. in the high school parking lot has been postponed.
The event has been rescheduled to the same time and same location tomorrow (Wednesday), weather permitting.
Original Story @ 6:08 a.m.: Brenham High School will honor the seniors of its spring sports, Tuesday night.
The Athletic Department will be hosting the Drive-Thru Spring Sports Senior Night at the Brenham High School parking lot.
Seniors from all the spring sports will be parked in every other parking space in the high school lot. The public is then invited to drive through and honor the seniors.
Athletic Director, Coach Eliot Allen says the night will honor those who were denied a ‘Seniors Night’ due to the premature end of the school year due to the Covid19 pandemic.
The event is set to begin at 6:00 p.m. at the High School at 525 A.H. Ehrig Drive.
This is totally wrong in my opinion! Why is this only for the seniors in sports? What about having a program or activity within the CDC guidelines for ALL seniors not just the ones involved in sports!
This is a selfish act on the part of the athletics department as a whole starting at the top of the pole! Just ridiculous!!!

If they wanted to honor all seniors the funding would have to come from the district.
Remember every department has a limited budget so it makes sense to honor just seniors in spring sports. Since it will be their last season.
Come on get with it let’s not start drama were it isn’t needed.
The district should be coming up with something for every senior, I have faith they will get it right.
It’s not at all about money!
My whole point is why not honoring all the seniors as a whole before graduation so they’ll have a good memory to look back on one day!
Or possibly use some of the 14 billion of the higher education funding by the government plus the $45 per student that attends class each day to have a small recognition for all the groups in every extra curricular activity but would of been nice to start with the whole senior class then work their way down the line but also remember there not enough time for each group so again start with the whole then decide on how or when or if even possibly to work down the line…
It definitely could of been better planned out but if it’s like the monkey see monkey do good ole boy system we are all out of luck with things getting better in Brenham!

Every year since I can remember the Athletic department does this for seniors graduating. Please read carefully!
I’m sure the District will honor the seniors as a whole group.
It is for the Seniors that did not get to have the recognition of a Senior Night during their respective spring sports. All of the Seniors that played fall sports had their Senior night so this is just a way to honor those spring athletes that had their season taken away! Get over yourself!
