BRENHAM BOYS AND GIRLS SWIMMING BOTH FINISH 2ND AT DISTRICT MEET
The District 19-5A swim meet was held in Belton Friday and the Brenham Cubs and Cubettes each finished 2nd and many swimmers qualified for the Region swim meet.
Caden Crow was named boys swimmer of the meet with two first place finishes. "I am very honored to be able to represent the Brenham swim team with these awards. This was a great accomplishment for me, but my goals don't stop there. My ultimate goals are to first get to the state meet, then win. Winning the district award was also great motivation for me to keep working hard to reach my goals. The extra work makes all the difference," said Crow. "At that time, I decided to work harder to become more competitive to swim on the high school swim team. Coach Clayton and Coach Coskey have worked with me for many years to improve my speed and technique. I am currently putting in extra training hours to reach my next goals to move on to state then swim competitively at the collegiate level."
Shayle Woods took a pair of gold medals for the Cubettes. ""It means a lot; all my hard work over these past four years has paid off," said Woods. "It takes a lot of discipline, hard work and hours in the pool training."
Coach Clayton was named boys and girls coach of the year. “The kids worked extremely hard this year to achieve their goals. This year provided some unique situations that were out of our control. The kids did a great job of not making excuses and getting the job done.”

Abby Clayton 3rd place in the 50 free and 3rd in the 100 free
Macie Coskey 3rd place in the 500 free
Madie Zscech 4th place in the 100 breaststroke
