BRENHAM, BURTON AWAITING TEST RESULTS TO END BOIL WATER NOTICES

The City of Brenham draws closer to ending the boil water notice instituted for citizens last week.

The city collected water samples and delivered them to a lab for analysis at approximately 11 a.m. Monday morning.  Results should be back from the lab within 24 hours, and if they are good, the city will immediately lift the notice.

In the meantime, residents are advised that they can use water to perform tasks that do not require potable water, such as washing dishes and laundry.

On Monday, the city said it has identified and repaired or isolated over 500 leaks, and has been able to maintain a normal pressure range throughout the water system.

The City of Burton also remains under a boil water notice, but Burton Mayor David Zajicek said the city hopes to receive its water test results today (Tuesday).

Customers who receive their water from the Central Washington County Water Supply Corporation are no longer under a boil notice.
