BRENHAM CITY COUNCIL TO HOLD WORKSHOP SESSION ON FINANCING PROJECTS

The Brenham City Council has already agreed to purchasing two new fire trucks, to building a new pet adoption and animal care facility and is looking towards a possible new library.

City Manager Terry Roberts says the Council needs to begin planning for all of these projects, especially when it comes to financing them.  That’s why the City Council is holding a workshop session Thursday morning at city hall.

The agenda for this workshop includes the financing options for fire fighting and rescue equipment, and capital improvements for the Brenham Pet Adoption and Animal Care Facility and the Nancy Carol Roberts Library.

Roberts says an architect has been employed to look at the needs of the Library.

Roberts says the council will also hear a presentation of the city charter from City Secretary Jeanna Bellinger.  Roberts says the current charter has been in effect for 19 years and changes may have to be made to it. He says only a vote of the people can make those changes and it is time to start having those discussions.
