BRENHAM CLINIC TO HOST “REACH OUT AND READ” TOMORROW

Getting books from the doctor will soon be a routine part of regular pediatric checkups at the Brenham Clinic, as doctors and nurses welcome the Reach Out and Read program to the practice.  Join the Brenham Clinic as they launch Reach Out and Read tomorrow at 5 p.m. at 600 N. Park Street.

Brenham Clinic joins more than 5,000 program sites nationwide that are preparing America’s youngest children to succeed in school.

Brenham Clinic pediatrician Dr. Jennifer Jones tells us the purpose of the Reach Out and Read Program and how it will be implemented.

Reach Out and Read begins at the 6-month checkup and continues through age 5, with a special emphasis on children growing up in low-income communities.

Families served by the program read together more often, and their children enter kindergarten with larger vocabularies and stronger language skills, better prepared to achieve their potential.
