BRENHAM F.D. ASSISTS WITH FIRE AT COLLECTION STATION

The Brenham Fire Department was called on to extinguish an equipment fire, Wednesday afternoon at the Citizens Collection Station on Old Chappell Hill Road.

Around 1:30 p.m., the department arrived at the Collection Station, to find a track hoe fully engulfed in flames.  The fire was extinguished and no one was injured.

The track hoe suffered extensive damage.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Just after 6:00 p.m., Brenham firefighters assisted the Meyersville Fire Department, to extinguish a small grass fire in the 2000 block of Old Navasota Road.

That fire was quickly extinguished with about 200 gallons of water.

The Brenham Department was also called out just after 10:00 p.m. to the 1900 block of Highway 290 West, just south of Old Mill Creek Road, to a one-vehicle rollover.

The driver was out of the vehicle when the department arrived at the scene.

Firefighters used absorbent to clean up spilled fluid on the highway, which was shut down for about 20 minutes.
