BRENHAM F.D. RESPONDS TO SINGLE-VEHICLE ACCIDENT ON HIGHWAY 290 FRIDAY

One person was taken to the hospital after a single-vehicle accident Friday afternoon in Brenham.

At around 12:15 p.m., the Brenham Fire Department was sent out to the 11300 block of US Highway 290 West, to reports of a transportation incident with entrapment.

Units arrived and helped EMS remove one of the occupants from the vehicle.  The other two occupants were already free from the vehicle.  BFD members also assisted with traffic control.

Brenham Fire Department B-Shift Captain Joshua Sebastian said the three occupants were injured, but two of them refused EMS services.  Only one was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.  Sebastian said that patient was alert and talking with officials.

Also on Friday, around 1:30 p.m., units were dispatched to the 2800 block of Victory Lane, for a reported structure fire.  They arrived to find nothing showing from the outside of the building, but found a light in the bathroom that had shorted out, causing the smoke inside.

Firefighters turned the breaker off in that area and advised the employee to have the light repaired.  Units cleared the scene and returned to service.
