BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT

  

The Brenham Fire Department on Thursday a little after noon, was dispatched to Quest Vapco at 1002 E Tom Green for a structure fire in the aerosol building located at the North side of the property.

BFD responders checked the building and plant representatives explained that a flammable liquid fire in a large vessel had been extinguished with dry chemical fire extinguishers by plant personnel. The vat lids were closed after the fire had been extinguished to contain vapors. Quick action by plant employees limited fire damage to the vessel, the vessel’s contents and products that were in production at the time of the fire.

Plant representatives thanked BFD for the quick, but refused any assistance.

Also on Thursday, the Brenham Fire Department was dispatched to assist the Salem Volunteer Fire Department for a residential structure fire at 300 New Wehdem Road around 10:00pm.

Brenham and Salem responders found an attached porch and fence around an air conditioner unit smoldering. The resident had kept the fire under control with a garden hose.

BFD and Salem responders completed fire extinguishment and overhaul of the scene.
