BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT

  

On Saturday a little after 9pm, the Brenham Fire Department responded to 1201 US HWY 290 W, Sealy Mattress for an Automatic Alarm.

Fire department units arrived and found the City Water Department working on a water line and caused a drop in pressure.

The drop in pressure caused the fire pump to cut on causing the alarm to go off. No action taken by FD.

On Sunday at little after 10:30 am, the Brenham Fire Department, along with the Berlin VFD to a grass fire behind 2855 USHY 290 W.

Fire Department responders found about ½ acre grass fire burning. Two fire trucks were used to extinguish the fire.

Also on Sunday, around 11:30am, the Fire Department was dispatched for water removal at a residence.

Water from a leaking water heater in the attic damaged the ceiling, lights fixtures, walls and floors. BFD shut off electrical power and water to the home to prevent any other damage or electric problems. BFD also used to wet vac's to remove about 20 gallons of water from the floor of the home. BFD advised home owner to leave the power and water off until the restoration company could remove the remaining water from the home.

And then a couple of hours later, at a little after 1pm, the fire department was sent for Rescue/Electrocution with the subject in an elevated bucket truck. BFD responders found a semi-conscious adult male slumped over inside the bucket that was in the stowed position.

The victim was manually lifted out of the bucket and lowered to a backboard, then was loaded into a Washington County EMS ambulance.

Multiple agencies (Fire, EMS, Law enforcement, City of Brenham Electric Department) assisted in the recue.
