BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT

  

On Thursday around 8:40am, the Brenham Fire Department was dispatched to 4001 State HWY 36 S for an Automatic Alarm. BFD was cancelled in route.

Also on Thursday,  BFD was dispatched to 1401 S Austin for a Transportation Incident with entrapment. BFD units arrived and found a pickup truck had hit the building at this location. Everyone was out of the vehicle. No extrication needed.

 

Then this morning a little after midnight, BFD responded to 400 W Vulcan for a reported gas odor inside a structure. BFD units used a gas detector to check inside the residence. No hazard was found.

Then a short time later, around 12:43am, BFD responded to 707 Pleasantview Ave. for a reported gas odor inside a structure. BFD units arrived and was advised by the occupants that the CO detector had gone off. BFD units used a gas detector to check the inside of the structure. CO was detected and the structure was ventilated. FD units checked the adjacent structure for CO but none was detected. The cause of the CO was believed to be coming from the gas water heater.

The occupants were checked out by Washington County EMS and all were ok. The City of Brenham Gas Dept. cut the gas off to the house until the occupants could get the water heater checked.
