BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT WEEKEND FIRE REPORT

  

The Brenham Fire Department responded to 4 calls in the 24 hour period ending at 7am today.

Around 9:35 am Sunday, BFD responded to the 1000 block of S. Austin Street for a building on fire.

Upon location BFD found a laundry basket of burning clothes in the parking lot that had been removed from the dryer. BFD extinguished the fire outside and proceeded into the smoke filled building to find a small amount of clothes still burning in the dryer which was also extinguished.

Smoke was removed from the building, and the building was checked for fire extension, none was found.

The fire damage was confined to the clothes dryer and its contents.

Also about the same time at 9:40 am Sunday, BFD was dispatched to a possible car fire in the 1100 block of E. Alamo.

Brenham Fire Department call was canceled en route per Brenham Police Department on location. There was steam that was mistaken for smoke.

About 1:33 AM BFD responded to the 1700 block of E. Stone for a fire alarm. While en route dispatch advised to cancel.

Around 8:37 AM, Rescue 2 responded along with other BFD members to the 1100 block of Old Navasota road for a motor vehicle incident with possible entrapment.

While en route dispatch advised that Washington County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Department of Public Safety was on location reporting the subject was not trapped and was out walking around, with also very minor damage to the car.

BFD canceled en route .
