BRENHAM HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES RECOGNIZED AT SCHOLARSHIP CEREMONY

  

Graduating Brenham High School students were recognized and awarded for their efforts Monday night at the high school’s 34th Annual Scholarship Ceremony.

Students received hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of scholarships at the ceremony, presented by the Brenham High School National Honor Society at Cub Stadium.

The top two graduates of the class were also announced at the ceremony.  Named as Valedictorian was Victoria Pieper, who led the senior class with a grade point average of 4.6173.  Leona Hernandez was named Salutatorian with a GPA of 4.6.

Pieper said this is a goal she has dreamed about from a young age, and it is one that has involved a lot of personal fortitude.

 

 

Pieper will be attending Baylor University, pursuing a degree in Biology Pre-Med to become a dermatologist.

Hernandez said she is thankful for all of the support she has received along her academic journey.

 

 

Hernandez will be attending the University of Texas at Austin as an Anthropology major in the Liberal Arts Honors program.  She then intends to attend graduate school to further her plans to become a teacher.

Out of 352 ranking seniors for graduation, 118 were recognized as honor graduates.

Brenham High School’s graduation ceremony will be held Saturday, May 29th at 8 p.m. at Cub Stadium.  KWHI will have a live broadcast of the ceremony.
