BRENHAM HIRES NEW CUBS BASEBALL COACH

Brenham High School has announced the hiring of a new head baseball coach.

Cubs' new head baseball coach Chris Griffin.

Chris Griffin, of Klein Collins High School, has 16 years of coaching experience.  Griffin has been the head baseball coach at Collins since 2013.

Brenham ISD Athletic Director Eliot Allen says, “Coach Griffin has a long history of developing successful programs.”

Griffin led the Klein Collins baseball team to seven District Championships from 2012-to-2018.  He has been honored as District Baseball Coach of the Year five times (2013, ’14, ’15, ’17 and ’18).

Brenham ISD Superintendent, Dr. Walter Jackson, says “Coach Griffin comes to Brenham with a statewide reputation as a caring professional educator and coach.  We are excited to have Coach Griffin and his family joining Cub Nation. He believes in our winning tradition and in building positive relationships with all stakeholders. He knows that the Cub Nation is accustomed to winning and leading, and we believe he will help lead us in the right direction.”

The Brenham community is invited to a public reception Wednesday night at 5:30 p.m. at Brenham High School.

  1. Any word on when there will be a meet and greet for the new soccer, cross country, and or girls basketball coaches?

    1. Unless you have a losing season and don’t make the playoffs. But otherwise…welcome…for now.
