SECOND OPPORTUNITY FOR PUBLIC INPUT FOR BISD SUPERINTENDENT TO BE HELD TODAY
After only six community members attended the public input session for choosing a new a new BISD superintendent on Wednesday , there will be another opportunity for public input into choosing a new superintendent today at 5:30pm, at the Blinn College Student Center.
The Brenham Independent School District Board of Trustees has employed the Texas Association of School Boards Executive Search Services to assist with the search for a new superintendent of schools, and the TASB held a meeting for public comment Wednesday afternoon at the Blinn College Student Center.
The Board has requested that school personnel and the public be involved in developing the qualifications and characteristics of the person the Board should seek to become the new superintendent.
Mike Rains, Director of Field Services for the TASB, tells us the purpose of today’s meeting.
Bob Smith, a field service representative of TASB ask question of the six member of the community who were at the meeting to give their input, giving answers to such posed questions as, “What are the best things about Brenham ISD?.”
Some of the answers to that question included answers such as “great teachers,” and “community support.”
As for the question of “What kind of characteristics do you want in your superintendent,” the answers ranged from, “Knows how to deal with a diverse student body,” “How to be a leader, and not just a boss,” “Be approachable,” and “Someone good at bring in good instructional programs.”
