BRENHAM ISD PARTNERS WITH OMEGA INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL IN CHINA

Brenham ISD has announced a partnership with the Omega International School in China.

Omega International School is creating a new primary English program for students in kindergarten through second grade.  The school is looking to learn how Brenham ISD teaches reading, writing, and STEAM in order to enhance education for children in China.

Omega CEO Vivian Lee and her administrative team recently observed several primary classes in the Brenham school district, as part of an ongoing project with the Blinn College Foundation.  The observation sparked interest in Lee’s team to learn from Brenham schools.

This partnership between Brenham ISD and Omega International will consist of a “pen pal” program between kids in Kristina Wolf’s first grade class at Krause Elementary School, and students in China.  Krause Elementary STEAM teacher Mary Kroll will also take part.  Students in China will practice their reading and writing skills, and learn about the STEAM program through shared videos of classroom activities.

The partnership will begin Friday at 8:30 a.m. at Krause Elementary, where students in Mrs. Wolf’s class will watch welcome videos from the Chinese students.
