BRENHAM ISD STUDENTS – CITY COUNCIL HOLD VIRTUAL MEETING

Thursday, Brenham ISD third grade Gateway students conducted a virtual meeting with the Brenham City Council.  Students in Mrs. Roznovosky and Mrs. Shellnut’s classes demonstrated that even during turbulent times, Brenham ISD students could successfully connect with city leaders to showcase their ideas and plans for a growing city. What would normally be a field trip to city hall turned into a successful virtual meeting with city leaders. Students used their laptops and huddled in small groups to present their projects to council members. Alton Elementary students were not shy about expressing their vision for the future of the roughly 18,000 person city of Brenham. Engaged students announced favorite restaurants, new fire stations, and park projects that included exotic animals. On the other end of the screen, Council members engaged with students and asked them to share their thoughts and ideas on their project layouts.
