A Brenham man faces a second indictment for Indecency with a Child.

A criminal indictment from the 21st District Grand Jury on May 25th charges 40-year-old Bradley Stephen Miceli with Indecency with a Child-Sexual Contact, a second degree felony that occurred on August 15, 2020.

Miceli was arrested on June 11th by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, with bond set at $100,000.  Additional conditions of the arrest, according to court documents, required that Miceli be placed under GPS house arrest and have no contact with the victim.

Miceli was previously convicted in June 2011 of Indecency with a Child, a third degree felony.  He was sentenced by former 21st District Court Judge Terry Flenniken to 10 years’ probation.

  1. “He was sentenced by former 21st District Court Judge Terry Flenniken to 10 years’ probation.” I would certainly hope that if this individual reappears in this court, that the former sentencing, which did seemingly no good to either rehabilitate or prevent future occurrences, will be remembered. It seems to me that this person, if convicted, should be incarcerated for at least 20 plus years; the others in this story are all persons who have decided either not to follow what courts have dictated to them, or they are simply doing what they want to do. While the Second Amendment supporters think that arming anyone who can legally have a handgun is going to prevent crime, much of what is on this list would not be preventable by gun carry; it’s up to the courts and the judges to maximize the sentences to the fullest extent of the law if they are convicted. If the TDCJ as well as county jails summarily fill up, it’s nothing more than the obvious outcome of too many people not abiding by the laws of society, and being punished.

    1. Most certainly agree with you on this poor decision. An immediate jail term was in order. But, as in so many cases of various kinds which come to our counties judicial system, revenue for the county is the main objective. If someone is in jail, they can’t work, that equals no money for county. But, years of probation, monitoring fees, mandatory group counseling fees, all add up to a large continuous flow of dollars shared between the state and county.
