BRENHAM MCJROTC DRILL TEAM FINISHES 5TH IN NATION

  

The Brenham High School Marine Corps Junior ROTC Drill Team placed 5th Overall at the National Drill Meet held at Daniel Boone High School in Gray, Tennessee Saturday. The team competed against the top 15 schools across the country, including schools from Nevada, New Mexico, Indiana, Maryland, Georgia, North Carolina, Florida, New Jersey, and Hawaii.

The Armed Drill Team placed 2nd in Regulation Drill and 4th in Exhibition Drill. The Colorguard Team placed 4th.  Senior Kristofer Baca received Best Overall Armed Drill Commander and junior Mason Williams was recognized as Best Armed Drill Cadet in Knockout Drill. Schools are scored on military appearance, precision and drill by current members of the Marines.

This is the team’s second consecutive appearance at the National level, placing in the top five in the country both years. The team is instructed by Captain Jeffrey Bayse and Gunnery Sergeant George Duplessis.  Story and photos courtesy of Brenham ISD.
