BRENHAM P.D. ARRESTS WOMAN ON DRUG/DWI CHARGES

A Pflugerville woman faces charges after her arrest last (Tuesday) night during a routine traffic stop.

Just after 6 p.m., Sgt. Kelvin Raven, who was working traffic enforcement as part of the STEP Speed grant program, conducted a traffic stop in the 2400 block of US 290 East.

Raven says he could detect the strong smell of alcohol on the driver’s breath and saw an open container in the vehicle.

24-year old Shannah Leah Stricker was administered a field sobriety test, which she failed.

Stricker was detained and transported to the Washington County Jail.

During an inventory of Stricker’s car, Raven found a prescription bottle of Trazadone, which was prescribed to someone else.

Stricker is charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Possession of a dangerous drug.
