BRENHAM SCHOOL BOARD APPROVES INSTRUCTIONAL CALENDAR FOR NEXT SCHOOL YEAR

The Brenham ISD Board of Trustees approved the 2015-2016 District Instructional Calendar at their Thursday night meeting at Brenham High School.

2015-2016 Instructional Calendar

The first day of school is scheduled to begin on August 24th, 2015, with the last day being on June 2, 2016, and graduation scheduled to be on June 4th.

An inclement weather day that was scheduled to occur during the Memorial Day 2016 weekend was instead moved to April 25, therefore restoring the Memorial Day weekend to three days.

November 26-27 is scheduled for Thanksgiving and December 18th will be an early release day for the Christmas holidays.

The Board also recognized the Brenham High School Swim Meet participants award winners, along with their coach Jeff Clayton, and the Brenham Belles, with their coach Jenny Schaer.

Jon Forsyth presented some of the Brenham participants of the Hard Hats for Little Heads program. The three children read a summary of that day, and each were wearing the bicycle helmet they received that day.

Also discussed was the Region VI Education Service Enter Board of Directors Election. Board President Melvin Ehlert asked those on the board that had not submitted their votes to do so at that time.

The TASB Summer Leadership Institute locations were announced for the summer, those being June 6-11 in San Antonio, and June 18-20th in Fort Worth.

  1. Three days ago 71% of almost 1400 people took a poll on this website in favor of the last day of school of the 2015-2016 school year be on May, 27, 2016 with only 29% in favor of the last day of school fall on June 2, 2016. Paul Aschenbeck says “you can’t please everyone”. True. But you obviously don’t listen to the majority of the taxpayers.
