BRENHAM SCHOOL BOARD TO RESUME BUDGET DISCUSSION TUESDAY

  

The Brenham School Board will continue budget discussion at a special meeting tomorrow (Tuesday).

Brenham ISD, like other school districts across the state, is awaiting the exact impact of the passage of school funding and property tax legislation during this past legislative session.

At their meeting last week, trustees discussed the potential effects of the legislation on property values, safety and security, and early education.  They also discussed employee pay increases, considering a 5 percent increase on base pay this year, rather than mid-point pay as was done in past years.

The board will also consider the approval of employing a director of curriculum, instruction, testing and accountability.  The board will then adjourn into executive session to discuss personnel matters.

The board will meet tomorrow afternoon at 6 p.m. in the Brenham ISD Administration Office on 711 East Mansfield Street.
