BRENHAM WOMAN DIES IN ACCIDENT

  

A Brenham woman is dead following a one-vehicle wreck Tuesday in Washington County.

39-year old Julia Blackshier of Brenham was pronounced dead at the scene, just after 7:00, Tuesday morning.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Blackshire was south-bound on FM 50 about 11 miles north of Brenham, when her 2000 Ford Explorer crossed over and left the roadway on the north-bound side and struck two trees.

The Brenham Fire Department was called on to use the Jaws of Life to extricate Blackshier from the crash.

Justice of the Peace Douglas Zwiener pronounced Blackshier dead at the scene.

The investigation into the cause of the crash continues.

  1. I am in such disbelief and very saddened to hear this tragic new. I send my condolences and prayers to the family, her husband and most of all her kids. I went to LVN school with Julia. She had a plan and achieved it! She was such a memorable character, and that smile………you will be missed my friend. RIP Julia

  5. This is very sad news. I knew Julia and worked with her a number of years ago before my retirement. She was a very good and compassionate RN when I worked with her. My sincere sympathy to her family and friends.
