BRENHAM WOMAN SENTENCED TO 10 YEARS IN PRISON

A Brenham woman who had only one misdemeanor offense on her record was sentenced to 10 years in prison for supplying methamphetamines to undercover officers in this week’s session of the 21st District Court.

District Attorney Julie Renken says 34-year old Crystal Dion Allbright was caught twice in a week supplying meth to officers April and May of 2011.  The transactions were recorded and she spoke about waiting on her suppliers.  Renken said they did not offer her a plea bargain even though she was eligible for probation because she had been dealing drugs all along and simply had not been caught.

There were some plea bargains in this week’s court session, including another possession of controlled substances charges. Thirty-six year old Jeannie Yvonne Allen of Victoria was arrested during a traffic stop in February of 2012.  The law enforcement officers found the illegal drugs and arrested her.  Judge Campbell revoked her probation and sentenced her to 12 months in a state jail.

.  District Court Judge Carson Campbell  sentenced 49-year old  Barry Wayne Turner for stealing an expensive television set in November of 2011.   Renken says  Turner was also sentenced for stealing a case of beer from two convenience stores on September 20th 2011.  Judge Campbell sentenced Turner to one year for each of the offenses.

Twenty-one year old Gabino Ibarra Jr., of Houston was one of three men who were caught stealing a boat on May 28th, 2013.  Washington County Deputy Art Senteno was on patrol at LBJ Drive and FM 1948 when he saw an SUV towing a trailer with a boat on the roadway.  The deputy thought they were having mechanical problems and stopped to investigate.

Deputy Senteno determined that they had stolen the boat after questioning them.  All three were arrested.  The other two men will face a court date in the future.

Renken said 18-year old Bobby Ware of Brenham had just had his 17th birthday when he was arrested for burglary of  a habitation on February 20th 2013.  Renken said he had no previous record and given the circumstances, she urged Judge Campbell to sentence him to deferred adjudication.   He must pay back the $2000 he stole in restitution and must perform 200 hours of community service.

Also sentenced for burglary of a habitation was 29-year old Arthur Clifton Lewis of Houston for an incident on September 19th, 2013.  Judge Reva Towslee Corbett took on this case and sentenced Lewis to six years deferred adjudication.
