BRENHAM’S DECEMBER TAX REBATE UP OVER $50,000
The latest retail sales tax rebate for the City of Brenham has seen a drastic increase over the same time last year.
The December 2014 rebate for Brenham is $494,642—a 11.2-percent increase over the December 2013 rebate of $444,845. For the year, the city’s total rebate stands at just over $5.9-million—up 2-tenths of a percent from $5.8-million at this time last year.
The County’s rebate of $214,172 is a six-tenth of a percent increase over the rebate last December of $212,933. For the year, Washington County has received just over $2.5-million, a 2.4-percent increase from last year’s $2.4-million.
The City of Burton received a rebate of $2,756—a 33-percent drop from last year’s December rebate of $4,123. Burton’s total rebate for the year is $33,763—up 3.6-percent from last year’s $32,585.
State Comptroller Susan Combs said state sales tax revenue in December was $2.66 billion, up 10.7 percent compared to December 2013.
