BRYAN HOUSEFIRE COULD BE ARSON

Bryan police have arrested a 34-year old man suspected of starting a house fire that killed a man and his daughter in the early morning hours Monday.

Dennis Wayne Brown was arrested at a hotel room on highway 21 Monday night when law enforcement officers found the Ford Edge SUV that had been reported missing from the scene of the fire.

The SUV belonged to Noel Devin, one of fatal victims of the two alarm blaze at a Bryan residence early Monday.

Her body and the body of her father, Thomas Devin were found after fire fighters were able to contain the blaze in the 2000 block of Vinewood Drive.  Both bodies were burned so badly that investigators had to use dental records to identify the victims.

Brown was arrested at the El Camino Hotel Monday evening for the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.  The further investigation led law enforcement officers to believe Brown may have been  responsible for the deadly fire.

Brown is being held under a $150,000 bond.
