49-year old Patrick Kirk Pitzer got a ten-year sentence in a Brazos County court, Tuesday. He had been found guilty by the same jury on Monday.

In May of 2011, Pitzer allegedly burned down a home in the 1100 block of East 25th Street, a location he lived around the corner from at the time of the fire. The building that burned down was being remodeled.

Authorities say Pitzer had made a series of comments prior to the fire about the Hispanic population of the neighborhood.  He reportedly also made claims that he would burn another nearby home when it was empty.

The night of the fire, Pitzer was said to have rushed back into his home claiming to have ignited it and that he would call 9-1-1 when the fire was big enough. Investigators were notified.

Evidence at Pitzer's residence also tied him to the crime.

Ptizer was described to investigators as a vindictive, vengeful, drug-using racist who hates law enforcement.
