BURGLARY VICTIM ASSAULTED ON A&M CAMPUS

  

Police at Texas A&M are searching for a suspect in a burglary and aggravated assault that took place late Tuesday afternoon.

At approximately 5 p.m. a man says he was returning to his parked vehicle on West Campus near the Kleberg Building.

The victim says that when he got to his vehicle, the hood was open and a man was trying to remove the battery.

The victim says he confronted the suspect, who climed he was working on the vehicle for a friend. During the confrontation, the victim says he retrieved his vehicle’s rangefinder which was on the front seat of the car parked next to his.

The suspect then pushed past the man and got into his own vehicle, then reportedly tried to run over the victim, striking him on a leg with the car.

The victim was not injured.

The suspect is a Hispanic male in his 20s, about 5’10”, medium build, and last seen wearing a black shirt, blue jeans and cowboy boots.

He fled the scene in a grey 2008 Cadillac CTS, Texas license plate FKH-3524.
