BURLESON COUNTY TAKING BIDS FOR ANNEX

A Burleson County architect and construction manager are working on obtaining bidders for the Burleson County Courthouse Annex project, and are hoping to soon present the bid to the commissioners .

Kenny Burns, the county’s architect, and Templeton Construction of San Angelo are negotiating with subcontractors for dirt and foundation work for their starting point, and after all of the bids are secured, Templeton will present the anticipated price by the end of this month.

The anticipated 32,000 square feet, 1.55 acre site annex will house the DPS troopers and probation office, and also include room for a larger office for District Court officials.

The building will also feature more security, with fewer entrances.  A one way entrance into the DPS and two entrances for the probation office. The district court annex will have only one public entrance. The annex is needed to address space and storage issues in the courthouse.
