BURLESON COUNTY SCHOOLS RECEIVES ‘FAST’ RATINGS FROM THE STATE

Burleson County schools received their Financial Allocation Study for Texas ratings from Texas Comptroller Susan Combs for 2014, which gives Caldwell ISD three and one-half stars, and Snook ISD two and one half stars, and Somerville ISD received two stars.

Five stars is considered the best, with one star considered the worst.

FAST looks at academic, financial and demographic data and identifies school districts and campuses that product high academic achievement while maintaining cost effective operations, and applied to 1,140 school districts and charter schools.

The ratings are compiled by taking measure of reading and math from TEA accountability ratings to form the composite academic progress, which then takes the spending index of each school established by comparing operating expenditures per pupil within a group of up to 40 fiscal peers. This takes into account district size, geography and student demographics.

FAST is updated annually using the most recent data from the Texas Education Agency.
