BURLESON COUNTY THROWDOWN TONIGHT

Burleson County will host its own version of the Food Network’s cooking competition tonight (Thursday).

Titled “The Burleson County Throwdown”, 14 teams will compete tonight (Thursday) at the Burleson County Expo Center by cooking a seven course meal.  In each round, teams will be given baskets of unknown ingredients and have 30 minutes to brainstorm, prepare and create a dish.  They will be judged on appearance and taste.  The event is free to the public, with doors of the Expo Center opening at 5:30 this (Thursday) evening.  The Throwdown starts at 6:00, hosted by the Burleson County Chamber of Commerce.

As part of the culinary evening, 16 Burleson County restaurants will participate in the annual “Taste of Burleson County”.  They will have samples for the public to try and then cast votes for best presentation, best fixin’s, best entrée’ and best sweets.  The “Taste of Burleson County” is also free, including the samples.

Sponsors of the Throwdown, which runs from 6:00 ‘til 9:00 tonight (Thursday) include Citizens State Bank, Woodson Lumber, Home and Ranch Real Estate, Texas Farm Bureau and Truss Works.
