BURTON CITY COUNCIL EXPECTED TO APPOINT NEW MEMBER, TUESDAY

  

 

A new member is expected to be appointed to the Burton City Council.

At their meeting, Tuesday night, the council is expected to appoint Paul McLaughlin to succeed Jerry Martin, who submitted his resignation as Position Four Council Member, last month.

Also, at Tuesday’s meeting, the council will consider amending the animal control ordinance, which was tabled last month.

The proposal would allow Burton residents providing temporary housing or foster care to exceed the allowed limit of four dogs and six cats.  The exception would only include care through a licensed animal shelter or certified non-profit animal rescue organization.

Also at the meeting, consideration of a formal application to the Texas Water Development Board for loan funding of a back-up water well, as well as the creation of a water conservation plan.

Tuesday night’s meeting is set for 5:30 at the Burton Volunteer Fire Department Station #2, on FM 1697, in order to provide room for social distancing.
