BURTON ISD BOARD TO CONSIDER STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT

The Burton School Board will review the student code of conduct at its meeting Monday.

The board will consider approving updates to the 2019-20 code of conduct, per recommendations from the Texas Association of School Boards.

Also at Monday’s meeting, the board will look at allowing the Washington County Appraisal District to purchase a new fleet vehicle with funds set aside for fleet replacement.

Superintendent Dr. Edna Kennedy said the Appraisal District’s Board of Directors approved the purchase of a new truck for $25,290, from reserved monies.  The item is to be subsequently approved by the school district, as a voting entity.

The board will also consider future board meeting dates, and hear reports from the superintendent, elementary and high school principals, and the athletic director.  It will also approve staff changes for the Lone Star Investment Pool.

The board will then meet in executive session to discuss personnel and district safety and security.

The board will meet Monday evening at 6:30 p.m., in the Burton ISD Administration Office.
