BURTON ISD SCHOOL BOARD APPROVES SEVERAL CONTRACT EXTENSIONS

  

The Burton ISD School Board met last night (Monday) and discussed the Master Facility Site Plan to address classroom and athletics needs. Board members and staff committee will be meeting to start the process moving forward with the project.

The District Improvement Plan for 2015-2016 was approved. The 2016-2017 school calendar approved at the January meeting was amended to accommodate staff development days.

The Board approved the district to purchase a new Suburban from LaRoche Chevrolet at a cost of $41,780 as well as the order to call a School Board Election on May 7, 2016 with incumbents Demetrius Colvin, Sr. and Ronnie Hohlt currently signed up.

The board also approved several contracts for the following staff:

Karen Steenken, High School Principal: 2-year contract through June 30, 2018

Melinda Fuchs, Elementary Principal: 2-year contract through June 30, 2018

Jason Hodde, Athletic Director: 2-year contract through June 30, 2018

Brenda Ritter, Counselor: 1-year contract through June 30, 2017

LaNell Lindell, Special Education Director: 85 day contract through June 30, 2017.
