BURTON ISD TO HOLD SPECIAL ELECTION FOR VACATED BOARD POSITION
Burton ISD is adding another race to its ballot.
The school district will hold a special election in May to fill an unexpired term on the school board. Incumbent Ande Bostain and challenger John Parffrey will each vie for the at-large position formerly held by Linda Hasten.
Hasten resigned in December of 2018 from both the board and her secretary position. Bostain is filling the board position through May, while Misty Lucherk holds Hasten’s secretary position.
Meanwhile, there are four other candidates seeking two separate at-large positions on the board. Incumbents Demetrius Colvin Sr. and Jeff Harmel have each filed for re-election, while Jon Johnson and Linda Sue Pinkerton are challenging for the positions.
Early voting starts April 22nd, while Election Day is May 4th.
