42-year old Steve Gantt was wanted on outstanding warrants for an incident that occurred at his family’s residence on Thanksgiving Day.

Gantt is accused of stabbing the victim with a fork during a family disturbance.

Gantt is charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Family Violence) as well as Assault Causing Bodily Injury (Family Violence).

He is accused of stabbing the victim in the face with a fork, leading to a complete loss of vision.

The assault causing bodily injury charge is a result of a separate case where Gantt is alleged to have assaulted the same female victim earlier in the year.

According to Washington County Sheriff Otto Hanak, Gant has spent time in prison and has an extensive criminal history in Washington and Lee Counties.

Justice of the Peace Douglas Zwiener set Gantt’s bond at $50,000 on the charge of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and $1,500.00 on the charge of Assault Causing Bodily Injury (family violence).

Gantt remains in the Washington County jail.
