BURTON SCHOOL BOARD TO DISCUSS PLANS FOR UPCOMING SCHOOL YEAR

The Burton School Board will meet virtually Monday to further make plans for the start of the new school year.

The district will go over potential changes to the 2020-21 school year calendar and consider COVID-19 expected expenditures, in line with the back-to-school guidelines recently shared by the Texas Education Agency (TEA).

Trustees will also consider approval of a staff compensation plan for the upcoming school year, along with the resignation of a board member.

The board will also review the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) investment policy and go over the administrative procedures manual, as well as budget amendments for the current school year.

Board members will also hear reports from the superintendent, athletic director, and principals.  The board will then meet in executive session to discuss personnel and district safety and security.

The board will meet Monday evening at 6 p.m.  The public can participate in the meeting via Zoom, using the information below.

Anyone looking to submit public comments for the meeting must do so between 5:15 and 5:45 p.m. Monday by emailing ekennedy@stu.burtonisd.net.
